Re: CW on B9Creator

New B9 firmware is closed source, so there is no way right now to try to port a third-party application to their printer. The gist behind CLIP is that the cured resin only bonds to the build plate or previously cured layer. If it cures at all to the film/silicone/whatever, it is no longer continuous...

Re: Top-Down: Surface Noise

Bottom up rely on the non-stick interface material for the quality of the surface finish. In top down, it would be the liquid surface. Are you perhaps getting any ripple on the surface from air currents maybe or some sort of vibration? The output of the video could be noisy, but I'd think that would...

Re: CW on Intel Atom?

Are you slicing and orienting the model with RPi host? No, it is just taking the CWS file with the slices saved in it and printing it directly. That is what my understanding of how RPi host works. You still do most of the heavy lifting on the PC and then upload the results to the Pi. If you had to d...

Official status of the legacy (1.0.0.75) version of Creation Workshop?

With the transition of ownership of Creation Workshop software to DataTree3D LLC, what is the current legal status of the 1.0.0.75 version of the Creation Workshop software? Is it considered freeware? Will you be making it Open Source like you mentioned in a previous discussion? I ask because there ...

Re: CW on Intel Atom?

The Atom is too much of a lightweight for the way CW works right now. I think the minimum processor I've seen for a laptop is an i3 class chip. The faster the CPU, the more RAM you have and the better graphics card will maximize your performance. Low performing peripherals will drag CW down with it,...

Re: Mask

Does anyone have an exact procedure to take the photo and make the mask in either Photoshop Elements 11 or GIMP? I've been fooling around with this for over a hour and want to pull my hair out! Invert gives me a pretty black image, but how to I reverse the values to the same level of brightness as b...

Re: Why is the repo gone?

If version 75 is open source, when will the source code be re-released to the public? I'm willing to pay for good software, but if there is no real improvements between 75 and the latest, I'd stick with the open source until I see the perceived value increase between the paid and open source software.

Re: TIP: Shutting down CW between slicing operations helps memory, and as result slices faster

It appears that there is some sort of garbage collecting that isn't being done between reslicing. Luckily it isn't a memory leak. ;-) Since the slices appear to be stored in memory, versus saved to disk in a temporary file and retrieved as needed, it puts a little bit of a burden on the memory subsy...
