Re: $10 Top Down Build SLA. Testing for Bottom Up Build

So here's a quick update about my educational process here. My V2 printer is certainly giving some better results than V1 did and I'm learning a lot about Creation Workshop as well. (somewhat wish the documentation was better actually). The following was done with a 100 micron resolution and Makerju...

Re: New project Top Down SLA Printer

Nice build. That vat you have is HUGE for top down. I hope you will be using salt water in addition to your resin if you plan on using such a big vat. I have also been working on a top/down machine here for some time. I have started very small and intend on extending my build plate if I see success ...

Re: $10 Top Down Build SLA. Testing for Bottom Up Build

For anyone still following along here, I figured I'd include another quick post with some more details and observations. #1 - With a setup such as this one you will obviously be in for a lot of guesswork and trial-and-error. What I can relay is that I have been using Makerjuice SF. My initial prints...

Re: Converting Formlabs Form1+ to DIY

Stupid question but are you sure its one of the galvos? Is there no way to remove the component and either ship it back or get a replacement somehow?

Re: $10 Top Down Build SLA. Testing for Bottom Up Build

I thought I already included this file somehwere in my previous posts but sice I can't find it, here it is again. Below you will find my official guide to the V1.0 release of my printer. Yes, it cost $10 in parts [and I used a $40 DLP projector acquired on eBay. Not too shabby!!! ] This will be the ...

What current DLP OPtions exist for the Hobbyist?

Hi folks. I thought I'd ask more of a generic question today of the group here at large. Many of us are tinkerers at heart and are here because there is a likely still a lack of options for the hobbyist/consumer that is looking to dabble with 3D Printing but can't quite justify the expenditure for a...

Cheap/functional Z Axis options??

I am looking for low-cost Z axis options. My own printer is a top-down model, so I beleieve I have less worry about vats and resin weight/deforming etc... I'm looking for the best/cheap Z Axis option and hope that some of you out they have advice about your own trials and tribulations I can learn fr...

Re: Durable and accurate top bottom 3d printer

Welcome aboard. :) I've just updated my owe build log and there may be some useful info for you there. I'm in complete agreement by the way, top-down is a better choice. Bottom up has at least two fatal flaws as far as I'm concerned. (a) fogging on the bottom of the vat (b) the item is being pulled ...

Re: $10 Top Down Build SLA. Testing for Bottom Up Build

SUCCESS!!! So, it's been a while since I wrote the group last and I owe everyone an update. My last post left off in January and the entire project has been sitting here idle on the side of my desk. Life sometimes gets in the way of tinkering and this was one of those times for me. I may have menti...

Re: $10 Top Down Build SLA. Testing for Bottom Up Build

Hello followers. It's been a bit of a while but I thought I'd revive this thread and share some minor updates. I'm happy to see that more than 260 people have downloaded my DIY document on page 3 of this thread. Sadly, I still haven't heard from any successful DIYers. :( I finally found a bit of tim...
