Re: Electronics basics (Need your help..)

Quick lesson in electronics: Voltage is the force behind the current. WallWart power supplies are EXTREMELY unregulated. Generally they have a transformer to get near the voltage, then a simple regulator to change the AC voltage to pulsed DC. Often, they don't even bother to filter the pulsed DC as ...

Re: Issue with the z-axis

At a first guess: If that ball is supposed to be round, but the Z axis measures correctly, maybe you have the X-Y axis wrong? They are supposed to be the measured dimensions of the projected image, not the resolution of the projector. Otherwise, maybe the ball is getting squashed somewhere in you so...

Re: First Build Top-Down getting started.

I've heard quite a bit about using salt water to float the resin on. I've also seen comments on using glycerin. Not sure which I'll use. However, as I'm planning a build volume of nearly 3 litres, I'll probably try one of the other. But, with MakerJuice at $55 a litre, it's not as expensive as it us...

Re: First Build Top-Down getting started.

Strange thing. After loading grbl into my boarduino, I don't always get the prompt and it doesn't reply to '$' or '$$', but it does respond to Z## commands?
I tried re-loading a few times and several ways of resetting it hoping to find a reproducible bug but it just seems to randomly give a prompt?

Re: First Build Top-Down getting started.

Z Axis working! So, I've got grbl loaded on my boarduino and I've got an A4988 driver connected. My stepper motor is a Neocene 2T354205 12V 5 Ohm 96 step per revolution. It's connected through 2 gears to a belt drive in my scanner. After enabling 1/16 step on the driver, and then setting Z=750 step/...

Re: First Build Top-Down getting started.

On the plus side, I got my Makerjuice G+ and my stepper driver board should be arriving soon!
So I can test exposure times with my projector.

Re: First Build Top-Down getting started.

Thanks for the info. For the stuck pixels, I've found DMD chips on eBay for about $99. Much cheaper with dead pixels. I was checking out me set-up and my projector seems to be switching off? Maybe because of the missing UV filter Glass. I wonder if I can remove the filter from the glass and put the ...

Re: GRBL Firmware Hex file

I'm guessing from your lack of details, you're using a Windows PC. I'll also guess you're using Internet Explorer. If you right-click on the link, you can select "save as" to save the file to your PC. But you cannot use the Arduino IDE to install the hex file onto your board. However, from...

Re: Full Video tutorial on building a topdown DLP printer

I have to agree. This is supposed to be a forum for freely sharing information to build your own SLA printer. If you want to monetize it, make a professional quality printer and sell it. Start a Kickstarter of Indigogo or even a Gofundme page to help you get started. Trying to sell access to a video...
