Re: Pictures of printed models with CastSolid

I've also done a quick 10 second IPA swish and another H2O swish, then stored them in water, only to pull some good looking prints out of the water and have them whither and die into a twisted crack infused mess in less than 20 minutes! I continue to be moderately frustrated with CastSolid resin. Pl...

Improvement Hack: Using string cord locks as Petri hold-down alternative.

A quick and easy way to access the petri and clean up messes quickly! My source was Walmart sporting goods: http://www.walmart.com/ip/Plastic-Toggle-Spring-Stop-Single-Hole-String-Cord-Locks-10-Pcs/44907400 But you can find a variety at Amazon: http://www.amazon.com/Plastic-Toggle-Spring-Single-Stri...

Re: Post Cure Lamp

I saw something about folks using a bulb like this. And I thought a coffee can might work well for a base, so I picked up a small Clamp Light from Home Depot and it rests atop the inner lip of a large empty coffee can. This is an intensely effective UV curing station and may cure too fast for some f...

Re: nano coating for vat

Just an FYI, I've tried Rain-X for plastic w/ very little effect on acrylic petris. Don't bother. Don't know about glass product or petris.

Re: Pictures of printed models with CastSolid

I used to think the 'cracks' appeared after cleaning with IPA too long, or because I cured them too long with UV light. But I also think some thin prints in CastSolid like rings, and pendants, may not need UV post cure at all! If the part is strong, dry and not gooey, why feel obliged to post cure i...

Hi Steve,
Not sure how this hobby will scale, but maybe from 1-3 working units initially. But possibly more in the future. Thanks!!

Re: Non-commercial use

[PacManFan] Steve, if extra functionality [plugins, etc.] are available for me to display my company logo (strictly for use in my shop!) on multiple computers, and not for distribution outside my shop, how much would that cost to be able to tweak the splash, logos, etc, but maintaining your copyrigh...

Re: Pictures of printed models with CastSolid

I echo minimaker's good questions. Also, what were the print times you got? Thanks.

Re: CastSolid resin use in kiln burn-out or in vulcanized mo

Also, has anyone incorporated sprues or gates into their prints? Or should I try melting wax sprues and gates on the CastSolid print prior to pouring the investment? I will eventually try this, so this is just a prelim question before I do, to inquire if it's been done before. Thanks!
