Re: Any resins strong enough for engineering purpose ?

ABS types are not a problem. The problem you are starting out with is using bottom up projection through a vat and peeling every layer along with using UV. This limits the viscosity, solids content and curing rate of the resins and composites as well as curing depth. There is a project that is using...

Re: Resins For Investment Casting

Bucktown Polymers has a new rinse out resin for investment casting. It does not burn out or melt out. It is rinsed out with hot water. After the cured polymer or rinse out resin (ROR) is coated with the investment and left to dry for two hours the investment is soaked in hot water for 1-2 hours to a...

PICO Projectors and Lithography

Here's a good slide show covering how PICO projectors operate: http://www.slideshare.net/Funk98/pico-projector-12565671 The problem that people are having with getting a PICO projector to work with a 3D printer is that the spectra produced by the three LED's or three lasers used (Red (635nm), Green ...

Re: Pico Projector base 3D printer

PICO projectors are similar to LCD projectors only that PICO projectors use three LED's vs a mercury lamp as the light source. You can use a unmodified LED PICO projector with resins sensitive to Blue (460nm) light. See this thread for more info: http://www.buildyourownsla.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=...

Re: LCD Resin 3D Printer - 'UV' source

@CidVilas

See this thread for other options. You don't need a UV LED with a LCD:

Re: LCD Projector

LCD projectors are fine for lithography. Some people are just trying to use the wrong resins.

See this thread for the hows and whys

Re: Two-photon polymerization

Femtosecond laser sources are very expensive.

Try building an inverse microscope SLA printer. It's good for features down to ~1um without too much expense or effort.

@ Hugues

If you are able to order 20Kg or more at a time or cover a day or two of formulation time we can blend resins to your specs
