Re: Silicone molding printed parts

Low temperature vulcanising silicone rubber (~75C) eg Castaldo VLT. Not great on delicate parts, but with care gives some good results. Mould release is helpful too - as is the long cure suggestion.

Re: New Creation Workshop RPi Host

Finally had time to sit down and have another look at this. Observations: 1. There is no facility to manually set serial port speeds. Only tested with the console test printer at the moment, but this may be an issue. 2. There is no facility to set the base layer exposure. 3. There is no facility to ...

Re: Problems with the FEP Vat..

The build size in CW coupled with the Z height that the build plate sits at rest dictates the final size of the model; focus needs to change if you change the height of the build layer too. Look at http://www.littlerp.com/?page_id=55 (Calibrating Printed Object Sizes) for more detail (and cal object...

Re: Problems with the FEP Vat..

X&Y or do you mean Z?

I've just found that retensioning the vat shifts the vat floor down, so I need to recalibrate the size. Not entirely sure the FEP isn't still stretching either; wonder if working with a thicker film would be sensible?

Re: Anyone that has successfully printed with B9 Cherry?

As far as refinements go, I think I'd like a more boxed-in mirror assembly; I've had trouble with dust & other junk settling onto the mirror that has needed isopropanol to remove it, with the attendant risk of scratching the mirror. Obviously this introduces additional elements into the optical ...

Re: Anyone that has successfully printed with B9 Cherry?

FWIW, the Solus recommended (supported) printers use the InFocus In8606HD or Vivitek H1185HD; I think the InFocus is preferred, not sure why; may just be availability. I've seen clean prints using Cherry from the Solus with unmodified projectors. Usually I'm printing small jewellery items as one-off...

Re: Anyone that has successfully printed with B9 Cherry?

The acer is acually a terrible projector... *Now* you tell me  I've been looking at the mask creation thread, hadn't looked at modifying the projector; my understanding is that pulling the UV filter will damage the DLP quite quickly though. Fallback position at the moment is to buy a wax injec...

Re: Anyone that has successfully printed with B9 Cherry?

35u in my case - as I've seen output using this resin sliced at that thickness. Whether the Acer projector actually puts out enough UV for this I'm not sure. However... One of my issues may be the use of the flex vat - trying to grow the base layers thick to compensate for the vat base bending away....

Re: Anyone that has successfully printed with B9 Cherry?

Sore point. I'm trying to get the damn stuff to print at the moment and failing.
Currently using 90s for the base (flexvat) and 8s per layer and getting nowhere.
