Re: top down with resin floating on water or ???
I've been using this method since last Christmas without any issue. I have printed with all the Fun To Do resins except Snow White with no problems. I've even had the build plate go below the resin and into the salt water while printing. No problem. As stated, just made sure the print is attached we...

Re: Glueing / painting printouts
I use my printer to make model parts for my model car building hobby, so I have to be able to paint and glue them. Ca(super glue) works great and lacquer, enamel and any a acrylic works fine. I'm using Fun To Do DB.

Re: Creation Workshop won't run
CW never has worked for me from the icon. I have Windozs 7 on my laptop that i use to run my printer. I have to go into the original CW file and load it through the execute file. Works fine that way for me. I wish I could easily run it on my Ubutu Linux machine like I do my fdm printer.

Re: Getting the first layer to stick
I have found that whether it's fdm or dlp that it's all about positioning. Place your blocks on end. Raise it 5 to 10 on the z axis move section of CW in the 3d window. Rotate it 30 to 45 degrees and have the bumps on the top surface. Add the supports and don't be shy. I won't add the base support a...

Re: Uncia Hi performance system kit
I have be interested in this type of setup since someone else introduced it on the board. I just couldn't come up with a good way to do it. This looks very promising. I'm going to try it on my top down. I have an I3 I built a couple years ago and will modify the parts I need to make it work and try ...

Re: Lead nut mounting
I can see where your design might work, but will caution you on 2 possible points of concern. First, the nuts need to be free enough that they don't bind in your fitting. The second is that they can't have any play in the mounting where they would move. Let me try to put that a little plainer. If th...

Re: Lead nut mounting
To put this in prospective for you, there is no means of insuring on first setup that you will get or keep a tight fit of the two nuts against the drive screw with the example you have posted. Any play at all between these two nuts and your z axis is shot. There needs to be a spring between the two ...

Re: Getting prints to stick to build plate
Vaughan, my printer is basically the same as yours. I use a piece of plain stock aluminum 1/8th inch thick. 1/8th inch holes were drilled 1/4 inch on center. This left me with 1/8th inch spacing between holes. I have used Fun To Do IB and CB successfully for months.

Re: New DLP technique : The reverse flexi-vat for top-down :
Let me see if I understand this process correctly. You position the normal build plate a certain distance from the surface of the resin in the vat. you lower the flex plate to the desired build height on the build. say 50 microns. you cure that layer with the projector and move on to the next layer ...
