Re: weird surface finish - flakes every where
Perhaps you are retracting too far or not square so some parts of a layer don't stick leading to flakes.

Re: Carbon 3D
Biggest problem with argotec is gonna be chemical inertness. Its apparently urethane based, but so are many photoresins. I suspect they will chemically bond. I'd check your light source. With Near-UV leds, cure for me with fep is near instaneous. That or mcMaster sent you the wrong material. Got my ...

Re: Sub $1000 build, including projector
Got fep film from CS Hyde. For being a teflon relative, its surprisingly tough stuff. Resin beads up on the film, but spreads out on glass. I tried curing a blob of resin with a near uv LED, and it fell off when touched. Basically near zero adhesion force. I then smeared a thin layer of resin onto a...

Re: Carbon 3D
TPX is only 1 Barrer or so. Concentrating oxygen can be dangerous.

Re: Carbon 3D
Yeah, we know. The Titan likely isn't as fast as the carbon3D, but it is a pretty damn fast printer.

Re: Carbon 3D
The Titan 1 is basically a flex vat variant. One side is fixed by a clip, and as the print is lifted this induces a peeling motion.

Re: Carbon 3D
Not high enough. What they call high is less < 1 barrer.
TPX has higher gas perm than PolyEthylene, and TPX is still WAAAAY lower than Teflon AF. About 1 barrer.

Re: Carbon 3D
But how is this an issue if the surface is always below the resin and thus wet?
I mean if large flat areas might cure all the way to the top of the liquid resin, then you have a problem.

Re: Carbon 3D
What if you dithered the image? Instead of printing 1 large flat area all at once, send two images, say a checkboard, where the black squares in one image are the white squares in the next and vice versa. So each layer shoot two images. Then your max cure area at any one time is the size of the chec...

Re: Carbon 3D
Well he just started trying it out, and the rook print he's produced later has much better finish.
