Re: Daylight (iPad) Printer

educa, This has been discussed in the past in another thread. A fresnel lens might work for daylight resins (not sure anyone has tried), it most likely won't work for UV. Since a normal color LCD blocks so much in the UV spectrum you really need the low degree collimating lenses right under the pane...

Re: Photocentric

I emailed them about a month ago and they said they'd have a US supplier within a few months. They were just finalizing some contract stuff, so it seems like they are working on it.

Re: MAP technology

Very exciting, congrats. Not much to say since there's no info yet.
I'm having a hard time wrapping my head around how it works...

Re: Daylight Polymer 3D Printer

Congrats! That looks great. I assume the cure time was around a minute like photocentric. A bit too long for my taste, I think i'm gonna modify the backlight on mine. I imagine printers in the near future will just allow you to pop in whatever tablet you have and start printing. Pretty amazing if yo...

Re: Daylight Polymer 3D Printer

Kvirre, I haven't seen this, but have you tried running the power off an alternative source. The site says it draws 1.35A which some USB ports might not be able to handle. I'd try a typical 5V wall adapter (maybe from a phone or something). Did you upgrade the firmware? I think it requires a driver ...

Re: Daylight Polymer 3D Printer

the problem is finding a cheap tablet with usb 3.0 The cheapest I've found in europe is around 200 euros. Just looking some more says it works on usb 2.0 also... If it has to be standalone, maybe give up on the iPad display and go with a Raspberry Pi and a 1280x800 7" display. You'd get almost...

Re: Daylight Polymer 3D Printer

Looks like in the states you can pick up the Winbook TW800 from microcenter which has a usb 3.0 port for $80 not so much in Europe.... The search continues Note that you can find converters that specifically say it supports the iPad resolution. This one says it support 2048x1536, whether it'll actu...

Re: Daylight Polymer 3D Printer

Yeah the converters can be expensive. You either have to go with HDMI->DP or USB3->DP converter. Not all of them will work, so you have to be careful. Seems the cheapest for either of these is in the $40 range. If you have a desktop just buy a $20 used graphics card on eBay that has display port.
