Re: Using a magnifying glass

What I think you really should be using is a macro lens. They are basically magnifying glasses though.

Re: nanoDLP - Raspberry Pi DLP Host Software

@Ray - The lead screw parameter you need isn't thickness, but the distance traveled per turn of the lead screw. You usually get this by measuring the distance between the ridges on the screw.

Re: Laser SLA Building Help Needed (1)

A couple of things to check: 1. Are the wires going to the stepper in the correct order? 2. You may have the steps to high. This is likely because you have the jumpers for microstepping on the driver set incorrectly. If you're using microstepping, check the jumper settings in the following: http://w...

Re: deformed calibration block, out of adjustment ideas..?

Are you sure the focus is correct? If you put a piece of paper in the bottom of the resin dish, is it clear and in focus? You mention that the focus seemed fine when projected on the ceiling, which seems like an odd way to test it, unless your meaning of ceiling is different than mine.

Re: OLO 3D - 3D printing using mobile phone light source

Regarding the lift mechanism; one of the pictures I saw showed a perforated plate that appeared to have two points for screw holes: http://www.3ders.org//images2015/turn-smartphone-into-3d-printer-welcome-olo7.jpg Another shows fully perforated sheet: http://3dprint.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/10/pr...

Re: OLO 3D - 3D printing using mobile phone light source

Responding to my own post here. Just thinking that we should be able to get awesome machines by using an ipad and some of the visible light cure resin, so long as it doesn't take forever to cure a layer.

OLO 3D - 3D printing using mobile phone light source

I just came across http://www.olo3d.net/ which has me extremely curious. To me, it looks like it mus be using a simple scissor lift to lower a perforated platform from the lid into the resin and just using bluetooth communication with the smart phone app. The real innovation hear seems to be the vis...

Re: Laser mirrors projector

Another idea is that you could use two rotating mirror systems to generate a raster display. If you have one rotating 800 times faster than the other, it could be like the old cathode ray scanning. The rotation speeds could become quite scary and difficult to synchronize though. If you want to updat...

Re: Laser mirrors projector

That has 6 lines of display using 6 mirrors. You would need 480 mirrors to get low (vga) resolution. I think you would be better looking at something similar to the peachy printer (if it ever gets released).

Re: LumiPocket LT: SCARA based, UV laser 3D Printer

Sounds great to me. I hope you don't mind me asking, but how will this compare with what peachyprinter are developing in terms of price, speed and accuracy? Obviously, it should be able to be more accurate given that you are not having to deal with shifting focus with the resin height changing, but ...
