Re: First print , newbie , major problem
Hirenashras suggestion sounds like a real possibility, I forgot to take off my blue protective film too but thankfully not before a print, only when I'd mounted the projector too close to get my fingers in. As a fellow noob to this as well I'll try to answer your other questions. Assuming you have t...

Re: Horizontal lines in print
It's all working as it should be now, I did a few things at once but I'm sure adding horizontal(ish) support was what sorted it, tilting in 2 angles helped too. It was as you said, and the ring was splaying apart at a few points when going down to the flexvat. I just made them in 3ds max, it seems c...

Re: Horizontal lines in print
Thanks for your advice on waxcast resin. I did notice that half or so of the supports at the bottom wernt attached at all, maybe that was makerjuice needing stronger support, maybe it was meshmixer, I don't know how it succeeded really, I'll look into b9 layout. Mine is the tall version, and my lift...

Re: Horizontal lines in print
What do your supports look like on that model? Honestly, pretty terrible. I'm embarrassed to show it but it worked, I used meshmixer to generate supports and most looked like they would never survive so I kept adding until it seemed strong, it was a spiders web. My next one I will try to be neater....

Re: Horizontal lines in print
What kind of computer are you using, are you using it while printing? is power saving turned off? making sure not to bump the printer during printing? tight vats generally result in fine shift lines not something this severe. Do those layers flare out on the reverse side too? (ie. do the layers see...

Horizontal lines in print
Thanks to the people in this forum I'm actually having success printing but I have one more problem. I have horizontal lines in my print that appear as grooves then the slice above (or same slice?) is off center causing a ledge. I did a lot of searching but I couldn't find much, some about flexvat ...

Re: Projector is displaying next slice before arm has retracted
I had a post all written up about how the settings changing did nothing, that I had a pile of failed prints etc but before I posted I decided to do one last "am I an idiot check". It turns out I'm an idiot. I wasn't clicking the apply button. I'd gotten used to clicking it in the slicing c...

Re: Projector is displaying next slice before arm has retracted
Thank you both, my print quality is improving gradually as I tinker. The reason I was originally interested in 25 micron is not about why, but why not? My sculpts I thought would be detailed enough to take advantage of it and I bought a projector capable of it though seeing someone else recently pos...

Re: Projector is displaying next slice before arm has retracted
Might as well update here rather than making a new thread, some success and some failure but better than I expected. I can't seem to attach a file as it says it's too large, oh well. Of the 6 calibration grid pegs it printed 5 of them. One at the corner only printed the base and the two next to it a...

Re: Projector is displaying next slice before arm has retracted
Yeah you'll need to bump up the lift and sequence time. I would take your vat out and do a dry run. Keep increasing the time until you get to a point where it starts projecting about a second or two after the Z arm has stopped. Thank you, I have it set to 6000 and increased the bottom speed to 100,...
