Re: Help getting crisper prints (DIY DLP)
So, a little update after much less testing than I'd like (other things got in the way). The first print attempt on the Wanhao Duplicator 7 didn't form a base layer that attached, so I upped the cure times quite a bit. The print came out much cleaner than the one off of my Acer-based printer, but at...

Help getting crisper prints (DIY DLP)
Hi Guys, I've got my diy printer based on an ACER H6500 with removed color wheel (not HD6510) up and running, and I'm getting some okay results, but not great yet. It seems like I'm overcuring in some areas and undercuring in others. Wondering if anybody has any thoughts? Here are some photos of the...

Re: PP/Polypropylene/ foil for VAT buttom
Reviving an old thread only because the title is exactly relevant rather than starting a new one. Currently printing on 80 micron PP sheets (cut from simple glass clear A5 document protectors) https://www.amazon.de/Rexel-1300063-Prospekth%C3%BCllen-Glasklar-Polypropylen/dp/B000KT7IEM/ref=sr_1_1?ie=U...

Re: Funtodo Standard Blend Black Smell
So, an update in case anyone stumbles across this. This shouldn't be read as an attack of any kind on the Funtodo resin. My experience is just my own, and I purchased the resin through a 3rd party and had it sitting in storage for over a year before using it. But. The standard black resin was comple...

Re: plastic wrap vs fep!?
So, I just got finished rebuilding my not really working top down printer into a bottom up printer to utilize a flexvat rather than long wait times/wiper/reversed flexvat to manage layer height. I did a very preliminary test print using an ikea container (Oval with blue lid) with a piece of acrylic ...

Re: plastic wrap vs fep!?
There doesn't seem to be a lot of information out there. Do more tests, try it out, and post your results. Material, thickness, use case (top down, bottom up), tensioned like a drum-head, used over glass, etc. The more information you can post, the easier it is for others to jump on board and test o...

Re: Gizmo3d - DIY
My understanding is the super speed is simply from double the light output and only printing thin walled objects. None of this works if your objects aren't thin wall, which has nothing to do with the projection (a slit won't help), and everything to do with the resin level on top of the cured layer....

Re: Help ardunio set up
EDIT: Reading a bit into this it seems that the UNO may not have enough memory to handle the Marlin firmware as well as the printer movement queue in RAM. Teacup firmware is probably a good alternative. This is a difficult topic given all the different hardware/firmware/software combinations out the...

Re: Funtodo Standard Blend Black Smell
Thanks for the reply hp, I was afraid that would be the answer. Sadly for me, I do not have a garage or any place outside where I could really keep the printer. Do you think the smell in the room days later, even with the printer moved to a different place could be from having really overexposed the...

Funtodo Standard Blend Black Smell
Hi there everyone, I started looking into building a Top down DLP printer quite a while ago, and have tested different parts of the system here and there with success. I got sidetracked by an FDM printer build but am back to working on my DLP. I took out the bottle of funtodo standard black that I h...
