Another New DLP Printer Coming Soon.....

Here's another DLP contender hitting the crowd funding arena soon. http://www.kudo3d.com/ They also claim to have a "patent pending" passive vat release system requiring no tilt or slide. Hmmmm Calling it a "flexible" vat container incorporating Teflon in some way. Of course that...

Re: The Tiniest Knight

Thanks guys! Using watsonstudios' technique of oversampling the slices made a huge, huge difference...the model was sliced at 4096x3072, and then batch converted back down to 1024x768. It does take a little extra time to do it this way, since CW has to export those huge PNGs, but it's definitely wo...

Thanks! Yes, it was the "adaptive" setting that did this. :)

Re: Creation Workshop RC5 - Not on GitHub!

Thanks man. One other note. On the supports, when you use auto generate, some supports are created going through the geometry. Meaning some supports will travel through the walls of the part to support a higher area. I know it's probably not an easy fix but it would be nice. If you start at the top ...

Re: Creation Workshop RC5 - Not on GitHub!

Nice! I'm playing with it now. Of course I can't use the control features but will use what I can. Question: Can you make the grid fit the build size? Basically expand the grid to fill the build envelope so it fills the XY no matter what size. Obviously, you might not get full grid squares on 2 ends...

Re: Here's my DLP printer

Gotcha. Well, maybe the same concept could be achieved in the background, so when you enter the "shrinkage" factor, then hit "slice", the software could scale the object in memory, create the slices based on the scaled part, thus leaving your object intact in the layout window. I...

Re: Here's my DLP printer

What if the software had a "shrinkage percent" option. This would downsize the images but not all the way. For example, if the shrinkage you notice is 2%, the images were downsized to a size which would reflect 2% larger than you need, that way after the 2% shrinkage, they would be correc...

Re: Iron Man MK-42 helmet - 1/2 scale

Using a new formulation from MakerJuice. Is this a new revision of Sub G+? How is it different? I guess it's a thicker, less shrinking formulation. It may be his new SubFlex formula which is still in beta. It is a softer, more flexible resin, even at full cure. Josh just sent me some to try out. I ...

Re: Iron Man MK-42 helmet - 1/2 scale

Hi Watsonstudios, That is a beautiful print! I'm very interested to test using over-sampled images. What process are you using? Thanks, Craig Thanks! Are you sitting down? Haha. 1. I have my model. 2. Bring into B9 Creator software to add supports (will be switching to CW soon) 3. Bring model into ...
