Re: High res / small build footprint for BIOLOGY!?

Could you just use a biocompatible PEG based material and use a typical photoinitiator and then wash the scaffold with isopropanol, water or something else to extract out the unreacted monomer (or oligomer) and photoinitiator? It is my understanding this is what they do in the contact lens industry....

Re: Modified Mendelmax to dlp

I still have one problem. How do I move the (2) z-axis independently. I want to move one up then the other, but I can't figure out how to do it. I'm assuming I need to use gcode. But I'm not sure where to put it. Do I put it in Marlin? Do I put it in Creation workshop? I found this " ;*********...

Re: Modified Mendelmax to dlp

I've finally got 2 hours to work on the printer. Given my schedule, I decided to build quickly with what I had lying around. I had to modify the lens of my Toshiba projector. I printed out a 3mm spacer to put in the projector. I used the customizable cylinder on thingiverse (I can't draw), printed i...

Re: Modified Mendelmax to dlp

It occurred to me as I was trying to figure out a release mechanism (tilt), that the Mendelmax has two Z-axis stepper motors. Currently both are linked and contain support bars for the X-axis. I was wondering if anyone has ever tried to do two z-axis attached to the build platform. Basically you wou...

Modified Mendelmax to dlp

I've been trying to build a DLP 3d printer for a while - I got suck on the z axis and how to get it working correctly. So I took a break for a while. I just came back to the DLP tonight. It occurred to me that I could use my mendelmax 1.5 for the z-axis. The mendelmax wasn't getting used (I have a M...

Re: Projector recommendatoins?

I got a Toshiba projector off craigslist. I opened it up and broke off the color wheel and UV filter. Then I couldn't get it to work again (for a long time). It is very cramped projector and has way to many screws and boards to remove to get to the guts. I would say don't get a Toshiba (unless its a...

Re: Toshiba DLP help

After a lot of tinkering, I got the projector to come back on. It wasn't the lamp door switch. From the best I can tell it was a hidden board connector. On the bottom of the Toshiba main board, there was a connector that needed seated to the DLP below. at least I think it is a connection to the DLP....

Re: Vat using Gorilla Glass and no coating

Where do you get gorilla glass? I think an Ipad screen has it, but I don't think I want to rip off the screen and the sensor.

Release coating for glass

I've been experimenting with release coatings adhered to glass. These release coatings are platinum cured Si-H/Vinyl systems which are used to make release liners for the adhesive industry. The major issue with these coatings is anchorage to the glass. If the coatings are not anchored properly they ...
